Catalyst Fund is seeking an Analyst Intern to support its investment activities. This opportunity is well suited to a proactive and analytical individual with a strong interest in startups and Africa’s innovation ecosystem. The selected candidate will conduct research on climate resilience sectors, business models, and market trends across the continent; support deal flow activities including startup screening, competitor analysis, customer and market research, and investment memo write-ups; assist with commercial and basic financial analysis such as unit economics, pricing strategies, and market sizing; maintain pipeline trackers and internal knowledge systems; and provide portfolio support where required, including partnership research, investor mapping, and KPI tracking.
Catalyst Fund Analyst Internship – Profile & Eligibility
Catalyst Fund is seeking candidates with an undergraduate (final-year) qualification up to two years of professional experience. Suitable academic backgrounds include STEM disciplines, Finance, Business, Economics, or related analytical fields.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong initiative and execution capability, consistently taking ownership of tasks and delivering results. They show a genuine eagerness to learn—actively seeking feedback, adapting quickly, and performing well in fast-paced, high-growth environments. A deep interest in startups is essential, including curiosity about founders, business models, and the complexities of scaling ventures within Africa’s innovation landscape.
In addition, applicants must exhibit structured thinking, strong written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a high standard of professional integrity.
Requirements for the Catalyst Fund Analyst Internship
- Candidates should preferably be based in Nigeria or Kenya, although exceptional applicants from other locations may be considered.
