Student can now process and receive transcript within 24hr- UNILAG

The management of University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, has launched a 24-hour transcript processing platform.

This decision was made following series of complaints launched by their past students, who expressed displeasure about the tedious process involved and the difficulties they face towards procuring their transcripts which at the end of the day, all their efforts go in vain, and sometimes they miss scholarship opportunities in the process.

In his statement: “In line with the vision of the university and the determination to ensure that our esteemed alumnus enjoy a seamless procedure in the application for transcripts and other related documents. Graduates of the University can now request for a copy of their transcripts in lieu of official transcripts, through the student’s portal on the University website and the Student’s Copy will be sent immediately to the applicant’s email address as an attachment once payment is confirmed.

According to the institution, since the deployment of the platform, more than 40,000 applications have been successfully processed and received their transcripts.

In the bulletin titled; “Development of Efficient Transcript Processing,” shared by the institute, the vice-chancellor in person of Mr Oluwatoyin Ogundipe also gave an assurance that a task force has also been recruited and saddled with the responsibility of resolving all issues relating to student’s results.

“In the first quarter of 2018, the Management approved full deployment of the online processing and digital verification of transcripts, certificates and other relevant documents. In lieu of this, UNILAG also said they have reached an agreement with the World Education Service (WES), a nonprofit organization that provides credential evaluations for international students and immigrants planning to study or work in the U.S, and Canada. With this agreement, all applications to WES would be processed and completed within 48 hours.

Further more, the university has granted approval for the commencement of the third phase of the digitization process that will encompass the conversion of student’s hardcopy results to digital format, in order to make the process faster.

How to apply
All applications should be processed through Google Chrome browser on a computer system.
“Student can also be able to track the status of the application via the university portal.”
