Outflux of Nigerian students to unaccredited varsities abroad worrisome- NUC Cries Out.

The National Universities Commission has recently shared deep concern over the outflux of Nigerian students for university education in other countries(abroad).
The tertiary education regulatory body made this known in its latest weekly bulletin, on Sunday, where the commission shared deep concern about how Nigerian students who choose to obtain their degrees abroad get them from unaccredited varsities.
Part of the publication reads, “The recent outflux of Nigerian students to foreign countries for university education, which in most cases, such qualifications are being obtained from unaccredited institutions has become a major challenge to the Nigerian university system.”
The commission, in performing its statutory regulatory functions to ensure orderliness and proper development of the Nigerian Universities Commission, has promised to continue to ensure and maintain quality standards in university education.

The activities of the commission have been progressively expanding in a bid to effectively meet emerging trends in higher education, it has equally led to the phenomenal growth of university systems in Nigeria.
