Upgrade: Offa Polytechnic lands senates approval as a degree-awarding institution

The senate has approved Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State to be upgraded to a university.

This development came to be after the Senate on Tuesday 1st February 2022 passed the Federal Universities of Technology Act 2004 (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

The passage of the FUTA (Amendment) bill automatically gives consent for the upgrade of the 1992 established institutions which was known for offering mainly the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma respectively, but has now been launched into a full-fledged Degree awarding institute.
