Ogun Varsity- Students MUST Attend lectures with COVID-19 vaccination cards.

The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye both in Ogun State havebeen recently reported to prevent students from attending lectures without COVID-19 vaccination cards.

This move was said to be in compliance with the directives of Ogun State Government and management of the institutions and making sure students are safe on campus and perhaps encourage those who were yet to get vaccinated to do so immediately.
This decision however brought about an outburst from the affected students who expressed great displeasure on the decision to enforce vaccination on the entire students as this sudden decision made some of them who were yet to get vaccinated miss classes.

Mr Yemi Ajibola, The Public Relations Officer of MAPOLY, who confirmed this new development, said the move implied that the state government was intensifying the efforts to cushion the spread of the pandemic.
The Polytechnic has many vaccination spots apart from the health center, we have about five spots now on campus.

“So if lecturers are now demanding for their vaccination card and i don’t see why students should provide it as this decision is for the students good.”

“Most students who are complaining will be freshers because I know those returning students are aware of this and most of them have gotten vaccinated even during or before the examination.

“So the school is fully in supporting the State Government’s directive for students should be vaccinated.” he added.
