OAU Murder Case: Adedoyin, Six Others Arraigned, Remanded In Prison

Rahmon Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotel and Resort Centre, Ile-Ife, and six other staffs of his hotel were on Thursday March 3, 2022 remanded in Ilesha correctional centre by the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, in connection with the mysterious death of Mr. Timothy Adegoke, a Masters degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Adedoyin who was arraigned with other members of his staff namely; Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle, were remanded in Ilesha correctional centre pending the confirmation of his bail application.
The defendant was arraigned on 11 counts charges of conspiracy, murder, altering of evidence, felony, indecent interference with the deceased’s body amongst others.

However, Barr. K. Eleja, (SAN), Counsel to Adedoyin, sought the court’s permission to grant the defendant bail based on health grounds. A medical report issued from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, as well as Asokoro District hospital was tendered beofre the judge as eveidence to effect this.

Moving bail application for his own clients, counsel to other defendants, Barr. Kunle Adegoke, (SAN), argued that the affidavits and exhibits before the court are self explanatory,
He prayed the court to admit the defendants’ bail request.

Chief Judge, Adepele Oyebola-Ojo, in her ruling ordered that defendant be remanded in Ilesa correctional custody till Friday, March 4, 2022, to allow the application to be moved.
