UNIBEN Students Protest Over ASUU Strike.

The students of the prestigious University of Benin(UNIBEN) Edo Benin city, have hit the street to protest over the incessant strike embarked by The Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU). The students protested around the campus gate and it’s environs, and declared what they called “UNISTREET”, which implies that Nigerian students would soon be  taking lectures on the streets with some of them acting as lecturers, all in a bid to protest school closure due to the deadlock between FG and ASUU.

The inception of the industrial action by the lecturers which is entering it’s fourth month has left public Varsities shut due to the Federal Government’s failure to meet with their conditions which include payment of earned academic allowances and adoption of the Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution, among others.
