FUTA Appoints Her First Vice Chancellor.
The Federal University of Technology Akure, have appointed Prof. Adenike Oladiji, as the First Vice Chancellor of the Institution.
Prof. Oladiji of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin, was recently announced the eighth substantive VC of the University and the first female to hold the position.
The appointment was announced by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Amb. Godknows Igali, who said that the Council ratified the appointment at its Special Meeting held last Thursday (May 12, 2022).
The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, said that the appointment was a boost for gender parity and inclusion. Prof. Oladiji will succeed Prof. Joseph Fuwape, whose tenure ends on Monday, 23rd May, 2022.
Her appointment will take effect from the 24th of May, 2022.
