Volunteers/Interns at LikeMinds Humanitarian Organization (LIMS)

LikeMinds Humanitarian Organization (LIMS) is a registered and independent non-governmental organization that operates according to the principles of non-discrimination and transparency, in accordance with its core values, and is guided by humanitarian principles in delivering aid to the affected population, while paying special attention to the most vulnerable people.

Duration: 6 Months
Remuneration: None. Only basic stipends will be provided.

Scope of work.

  • Working under the supervision and guidance of the Project Manager, the selected volunteers will be based in designated LIMS locations in their respective states.
  • The volunteers will take instructions from the Project Manager and Project Assistant to execute the tasks given.
  • The Volunteers are also expected to carry out tasks that may be given to them by other members of the LIMS staff during the duration of their contract.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings and training.
  • Perform all visibility tasks given by the project assistant.
  • Participate in on-the-field data collection and entry for various interventions implemented in the field and ensure that complete, accurate, clean and consistent data is shared with the Project Assistant.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets among others.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BSc or National Diploma in Social Sciences or related field required
  • Should be passionate about humanitarian work. Experience in a Non-Governmental Humanitarian Organisation is an added advantage.
  • Should possess a laptop or mobile device capable of hosting virtual online meetings

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Database management and knowledge management experience required.
  • Strong computer literacy required.
  • Familiarity with issues related to humanitarian/development work and contextual knowledge of conflict-affected environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in the local languages of the state is highly desirable.
