Education Profile of Mary Remmy Njoku

Mary Remmy Njoku born March 20, 1985, in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, Nigeria. She is a Nigerian actor, producer, film entrepreneur and the founder ROK Studios in Nigeria.

Remmy attended Amuwo Odofin High School, National College Bagada and Navy Town Secondary School for her secondary education. She then proceeded to Lagos State University to bag a degree in English Language. Later, she headed to  London Film Academy for Producing: Movie Magic Budgeting and Schedule certification in the United Kingdom.

She participated in school stage productions and eventually pursued a career in the film industry, making her debut in 2003. She gained recognition after appearing in the TV series “Blackberry Babes” in 2011, although her first acting role was in “Home Sickness” in 2004.

Between 2011 and 2013, Njoku created iROKtv, a YouTube channel featuring interviews with famous Nigerians and coverage of Afrobeats and Nollywood events. In 2016, Njoku launched ROK on Sky in the UK and ROK on DSTV in Africa. 

In 2018, she added two more Pan-African channels, ROK2, ROK3, and ROKGH for viewers in Ghana. With over 3000 hours of original content, including movies and TV series, ROK has quickly become a top producer of family-friendly entertainment. 

In 2019, Canal+ acquired ROK Studios from iROKO Partners, making it the largest media acquisition in Sub-Saharan Africa.
