Private Universities That Offer Scholarships in Nigeria

About

The cost of college in Nigeria is getting more expensive each year because of the country’s weak economy and the devaluation of the Nigerian currency. Tuition fees at government and private universities, colleges, and polytechnics have become too costly for many people.

Still, students are determined to overcome the rising expenses and follow their educational aspirations. Private universities in Nigeria are renowned for providing excellent education and top-notch facilities.

They often offer scholarships to deserving students, which cover tuition fees, accommodation, and other expenses. These scholarships make it easier for students to pursue their education without financial strain.

1.Babcock University:

A Christian faith-based institution, operated by one of the denominations in Nigeria, provides both partial and fully funded scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

To qualify for undergraduate scholarships, students must demonstrate a strong O’level result and show that they are unable to pay the full tuition fees or lack financial assistance.

Several scholarship bodies oversee this process, including the Parent’s Consultative Forum, Springtime Development Foundation (SDF), Needy Students Fund, and Ilishan Indigene Scholarship.

2. Nile University:

The Nile University of Nigeria, established in 2009 in Abuja, is a private multidisciplinary university. It holds membership in the Honoris United Universities Network and holds accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Scholarships for undergraduate applicants are determined based on their JAMB and WASSCE results, as announced by the Board of Trustees at Nile University of Nigeria. A complete scholarship is available for all undergraduate programs, excluding law and medicine, for those scoring 320 and above +60A1.

Additionally, students who excel in sports at the national or professional levels have the opportunity to receive a full scholarship for their undergraduate studies by joining the NILE team.

3. . Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria.:

Established in 2005, Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Nigeria, is a privately-owned Islamic institution founded by the AbdulRaheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF).
