Maryam Abacha University names campus street after the Late, Haneefa

Maryam Abacha University of Nigeria, Kano, has named one of its streets on campus after the late five year old Haneefa Abdussalam, who was kidnapped and gruesomely murdered then buried in a shallow grave by her teacher Mr Abdulmalik Tanko in kano.

The commissioning of the street was done on Sunday 30th January, 2022 at the university’s main campus in Hotoro, Kano by the university’s founder, Prof. Adamu Gwarzo. At the event attended by Mr. Abdussalam Abubakar the father of the late Haneefa, Prof. Gwarzo categorically stated that the street was named after the late Haneefa to immortalise her due to her untimely passing by trusted criminal fellows.


In his words” Though Haneefa is gone now, we pray Aljanna should be her final resting abode. We are also sympathise with her parents and pray that Allah gives them the fortitude to bear this huge and very painful loss.”
