PressPayNg Partners with NANS for ‘’THE FINTECH SUMMIT’’.

In a bid to ensure healthy competition among Nigerian Students with young innovative minds, and in utmost commitment to the welfare of Nigerian students, the financial secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Adeyinka Williams Olaseinde hosted “The Fintech Summit, Theme: Idea Challenge.’’ The summit featured a hackathon of creating an inter institution competition where Nigerian students pitched their ideas.

The summit was held on February 19th, 2022, at the Nigerian National Merit Award House (NNMA), Maitama Abuja. The event consisted of 6 keynote speakers and 8 panelists. The special guest in attendance was the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Farouk Yahaya who was ably represented, and The Governor of Ondo State represented by Babajide Akeredolu (Director General Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit, Ondo State, Ilesanmi Ade-Ademola (PMG, Ekiti state co-ordinator/CEO, Lah lounge, Lulu Fawehinmi (PMG, Ondo state coordinator) and Mr. Abiola Metilelu (CEO PressPayNg)

The event began with a welcome address from NANS Financial Secretary, Comr Olaseinde Adeyinka Williams, in his speech, he expressed excitement over the turn-out of students to the event and also promised to keep using his good office to do his best in ensuring Nigerian students get the opportunity to move forward, especially in innovation and also create avenues such as boot camps where Nigerian student meet to brainstorm and share ideas. In his words: “We are all one and for us to grow and move forward we need to network and share ideas with each other so events like this create such opportunities.” Furthermore, he also thanked all the special guests but in particular the Chief of Army Staff for honoring the invitation.

The Chief of Army Staff expressed his joy about the event and promised to always support students by providing the security they need. he said “we all have been students at a certain point in our lives and as far as learning is concerned we keep upgrading every day, especially with the presence of technology in this modern-day. Things are constantly evolving and as such attending events like these which create a digital platform will broaden ones knowledge and mind, particularly in terms of innovation.” he also assured the Nigerian student that security personnel will always do their best to ensure the safety of Nigerians especially students who are young and are the future leaders of tomorrow. According to him, all the arms of security are working tirelessly to eradicate insurgency and in no distance time, Boko haram will be wiped out completely. He also gave an anonymous donation courtesy of the Chief of Army Staff.

Speaking at the event was PressPayNg Business Development Manager, Mr. Afolabi Olabanji. who briefly explained what PressPayNg was all about and how the EdTech innovation has been helping both parents and Nigerian students in Tertiary institutions with its many offers such as EduSavings, EduLoans, EduSure, and EduCare. In his words: The first 20 students to download the App stood a chance to win a very big Bonus.”

Also in attendance were the founder of Famcoin Universe, Olakunle Faramola, Founder of JPTS, and President, Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas, Prof. Christopher Imumolen, Co-founder Tech4Dev Joel Ogunsola, and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo amongst others.

Awards were also given at the Event.
