NUC Approves 13 New Courses For LAUTECH.

The National Universities Commission (NUC), has approved Thirteen new full-time courses for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. The approval was conveyed in a letter from the NUC addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, dated March 14, 2022 and signed by Dr. Noel Biodun Salihu, Director of Academic Planning on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NUC.

The letter explained that it how the approval came as a result of the verification visit that was carried out recently by panels of experts to some proposed academic programmes in the University. And the commencement of the programmes will take effect from the 2021/2022 academic session.

The newly approved courses are:

  • B. Tech Fisheries and Aquaculture
  • BLIS Library and Information Science
  • B. Sc. Sociology
  • B. A. English Language and Literary Studies
  • B. Sc. Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • B.A. Philosophy
  • B. A. History
  • B. Tech. Forest Resource Management
  • B. Tech Wildlife and Ecotourism Management. 
  • B. Tech Consumer and Home Economics
  • B. Tech. Estate Management
  • B. Tech. Survey and Geoinformatics
  • B. Tech. Building

Speaking on the latest development, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, LAUTECH, Prof. Mojeed Liasu, said it was a welcome development and worth encomium to be showered on Governor Seyi Makinde FNSE and the Governing Council under Professor Ayodeji Omole.

In his words, “we do not intend to take this confidence for granted and we shall continue to play according to the laid down rules.”
