Education Profile of Joke Silva

Joke Silva born 29th of September 1961 in Lagos, Nigeria is a Nigerian actress, director, and businesswoman.

After her primary education, Joke Silva proceeded to Holy Child College in Lagos for her secondary education, where she obtained the West African Senior School Certificate. Joke then headed to the University of Lagos, where she bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in the English Language before heading to the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, the United Kingdom, where she studied drama.

Silva began her career in film in the early 1990s with the National Television Authority (NTA) before heading to the theatre for acting. She professionally debuted in Nollywood in a movie titled “Mind Bending” before featuring in other films like Owulorojo in 1993 and Violated in 1995.

At the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art  she was part of a cultural group that included the playwright Bode Osanyin and the singer Stella Monye. She took a year off from her studies, during which time she began working as an actress before relocating to England where she studied Drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
